For designers, sourcing the right font(s) for a project can be a difficult task. While there are hundreds and thousands of pre-installed on most modern-day computers, many of these have been overused over the years and because of this, they can look outdated and unprofessional. What’s more, a lot of these fonts are virtually unreadable and if you’re designing a logo or any other highly-branded design, they’re just not unique or ‘brandable’ enough.

The Olympics are one of the most celebrated events in the world, and for good reason. Every four years, we get to watch this huge competition where athletes from all around the world come and give their best. It’s one of the most inspirational moments many of us ever get to see. Well, we did say four years before, but it’s really just two, isn’t it? Every second year we get a type of Olympic game, be it the Winter Olympics or the Summer Olympics, alternatively.

It can be argued that the true artist can make art with whatever tools he has at hand. Singer and songwriter Tom Waits once said that “some songs come out of the ground just like a potato. Others you have to make from things you found, like your mothers’ pool cue, your dads’ army buddies, your sisters’ wristwatch… that type of thing. You’d be surprised what you can find if you’re, you know, resourceful.”
