10+ Tutorials on How to Use Photoshop Actions
For those of you that don’t know, PS actions are a recording of all the tools you used in Photoshop during a period of time. Most people use them to apply the same tool (for example: filters, cropping, rotating and so on) to a large number of images.
Some people might say that you are lazy and you don’t really like to work, so that’s why you use actions. The truth is, a PS action can save you a lot of time, time which you can then use for another task – so you’re being efficient, right? Moreover, nobody likes to do repetitive, mundane tasks and maybe you sometimes wish that you can delegate those no-brainer tasks to someone else.
Photoshop has the ability to save you from getting bored to death and comes up with this highly useful feature called “action”. Now don’t think that PS can do everything for you. For example, you can’t just select a person with the Lasso Tool and then expect Photoshop to do the same with the rest of the images – it’s not that smart – yet! Nevertheless, there are a lot of things that Photoshop can automatically do for you. Just imagine working on a 40 steps photo effect and afterward being able to recreate the same effect on a different image with just a click!
There are a couple of ways you can make use of a Photoshop Action: you can get a free or a premium action, install it and use it, you can create your very own Photoshop actions or you can customize a PS action you already have.

I don’t think it’s lazy at all. Like you said, actions can be used for some of the more mundane tasks and not for every single thing that needs doing in photoshop. Unless of course one has an army of minions in which case they can do the mundane stuff.
I think all of us would like to have an army of minions once in a while to do all the boring work :D I certainly would! :) I personally like to use Photoshop actions to create some cool effects on my vacation photos for example :)
