11 Most Crazy Design Related Laws

In my daily search for design inspiration, I stumbled upon one of the funniest crazy websites called Stupidlaws. I know, now you’re probably thinking “What does this have to do with design?”. Well my darlings, I went on and searched for design related words such as “illustration”, “draw”, “color”, “paint” and found 11 of the craziest laws out there. I know it’s not one of the posts you’re used to, but it’s funny as hell and it can provide some cool inspiration for your projects.

1. It is illegal to paint landscapes in times of war. (Vermont, U.S.)

2. It is illegal to carry an open can of spray paint. (New York City, New York, U.S.)

3. It is illegal to conceal a spray-painted shopping cart in your basement. (Reno, Nevada, U.S.)

4. It is illegal to paint sparrows to sell them as parakeets. (Harper Woods, Michigan, U.S.)

5. Permanent markers may not be sold in the city limits. (Fresno, California, U.S.)

6. By law all double-decker buses must be painted red. (London, U.K.)

7. Wooden logs may not be painted. (Canada)

8. It’s an offense to have more than two colors of paint on your house. (Beaconsfield, Canada)

9. It is illegal to display colored chickens for sale. (Akron, Ohio, U.S.)

10. No one may practice the business of tattooing on Sunday. (Columbus, Georgia, U.S.)

11. One may not dye a duckling blue and offer it for sale unless more than six are for sale at once. (Kentucky, U.S.)
